Summer meadow 1500 to 2500 metres

The nomads’ life is never easy but the beauty of their surroundings is more than town and city dwellers like us can ever imagine.


Their annual journey is a ritual full of hardship but nevertheless full of love and respect for nature.


In September, they embark on the return journey to their lowland winter homes, completing it in stages.


Years ago there were hundreds of their tents.  Now there are far fewer, but there is still time to catch a glimpse of this vanishing world.
